  1. Hey friends, I know the DB serial # is supposed to be somewhere near the shackle on the passenger side of the frame rail. Can anyone post a pic of where their number is and what it looks like.....I have been studying that spot and can't find any numbers yet. Thanks in advance, Jim
  2. Okay, thanks! If no aprons then the previous owner may have glued running board rubber to the frame...I have sticky residue up the side. Thank you for the help!
  3. Hey Dodge Fans, I throw myself at someone's better experience- I bought a 1928 Dodge Vic 6 Sedan and am working on making new running boards, I noticed something odd on both sides of my car. I may be missing the splash aprons, if indeed this year came with some? Can someone tell me if my '28 140 model had aprons below the doors and above the running boards? See pic of car attached. Thanks, Jim Chocole
  4. My radiator cover is awful on my Victory 6 Sedan 140- does anyone have a lead on a half-way decent one with some polishable chrome left? I don't need to be able to comb my hair in it, just be able to hold my head up when I walk past. Thanks, Jim Chocole
  5. Superb information- I'll check today! **after checking, my motor has a "D-5 and a serial number on the block...so I have a 1937 Motor! Thanks and that was easy indeed! Much appreciated, Dodge fans! Jim
  6. Thanks- I just snagged one copy for $9.99 on Ebay and will be here in about a week; until then, I need to determine my motor year- does anyone have a few clues about 1937-1939 motors? The previous owner said '39 but he wasn't sure. Thanks again, Jim
  7. Good to know- I haven't ever had a '28 sedan and especially not Dodge so I wanted to ask and see what was out there. My family had a drapery business years ago and we sold all those machines for pennies- I wish I had known then what I know now. That was pre-Internet days and nobody around wanted 1940's to 1950's era machines- very sad in retrospect. Thanks for the tip!
  8. Can anyone recommend a source for a '28 Vic 6 140 interior kit or patterns? Thanks, Jim
  9. I have a '28 Vic 6- does anyone have any leads on interior kits? Or must everything be custom made for this particular year? Thanks in advance, Jim
  10. I have a 1937 Dodge motor with a Stromberg downdraft D-5 carburetor, my unit drips and needs an overhaul so I wanted to see if anyone has a rebuilt carb collecting dust they'd like to sell? Thanks, Jim
  11. My '37 Dodge motor needs a reliable D-5 carburetor, does anyone have a spare sitting on a shelf that is rebuilt? Model EXV-2 on the throat of carb. Thanks, Contact Jim at anteekguy97@aol.com
  12. Thanks for the drawings- they are very clear and exacting! Much appreciated.
  13. Typical Home Depot- I went there and asked for something as you had explained and nobody knew anything about an edge guard! How frustrating...walked around and found nothing. Can ya give me any clarity on this item? Thanks!
  14. Did the counter top edging come from a big-box retailer or specialty shop?
  15. Interesting- I had seen that stair edging and actually had contemplated that idea, thanks for the reference. I'll keep looking around as well and if I see something -I'll post it.
  16. Hey Guys, I have a driver-quality '28 Vic 6 and need edge molding for my running boards. Has anyone found a more reasonable substitute for the pricier custom made ones? I am just looking for square aluminun edging. Thanks, Jim
