  1. I get a few calls a year to go look at cars that someone has listed on ebay and evaluate the car before the buyer purchase the car. If they want just a quick once over and my opinion on the car then i usually don't charge anything but if they need a full on evaluation of the car then a small fee to cover my time. If you can't justify flying out or viewing the car in person then it is worth finding a local restoration shop in and having them go inspect the vehicle. You are still taking a chance what i might perceive as repairable or not a major issue might be different than your idea of what you're getting, getting a 3rd party to look over the car is a good idea.,
  2. I will have to dig around for the engine mount photos.
  3. We are doing a mechanical restoration on a 29 roadster now and we have a 29 sedan in the shop as well if you need any specific photos let me know.

  5. Has anyone run dual updrafts on the model 75. I'm just wondering how much of an improvement it would make on an updraft system. We are working on a roadster to run the Milia miglia this year and have toyed around with the dual updraft idea.
  6. Thanks for the help, we have one new stainless bolt in the mix and that must be where it came from. I will give them a call today.
  7. We are working on a 1929 Chrysler 75 roadster. We have a completed set of wheel studs for the car but a few of them have ver questionable threads and i was wanting to know if there is anyone who has had these remade? Thank you Rex Rogers
  8. Thanks for the information we just got a 29 chrysler in the shop for some mechanical restoration.
  9. If i had the money i would take the 28 phaeton. I can afford to restore and build these car just can't afford to own one yet. The out side handles look correct but i would have to double check, there are some items on the car that are not 100% Ford items like the heater and other small stuff, and the car is showing it age as far as the suspension parts go all the bushings could be redone. All in all the car runs great and drives nice, I am just lucky enough to get to drive this car for a little while.
  10. I have been in the restoration field for 16 years and i have never had the chance to drive a model A. The owner of this 28 Phaeton let me and my six year old son take the car out for the weekend, we ended up at local car show and have put close to a 100 miles on the car since. I can't remember having more fun than driving this great car down the road and spending the weekend with my son. I think it is time to save up and start looking for a stock Model A of my own,
  11. We have put about 100 miles on this car in the last few week runs great.

  13. A quick introduction I have been working in the restoration and hot rod field for 16 years and have spent the last ten with Custom Auto. The Marine Corps gave me my start in the sheet metal trade and from their went to school at McPherson College. was fortunate enough to be able to take an apprenticeship with Ron Fournier in Michigan, and then on to Colorado. I am sheet metal shaper by trade and still love my job. The Custom Auto crew has gotten 2010 off to a great start. Red Lang's "Dead End Kids Dragster," owned by Dave Crouse, underwent some preservation work. This car along with preservation-in-progress the “King and Hansen Belly Tank,” owned by David Duthu, were both able to attend the Grand National Roadster Show. We were fortunate to be involved in completing the restoration of the “Sorrell Manning Special” SR-100 owned by Dr Mark Brinker. Dave transported the car out to the Petersen Museum for their Fantasy in Fiberglass exhibit. Congratulations to Gary and Diane Cerveny for the RM Auctions Trophy For the Best Open Car at the Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance. The “Norman Timbs Special” underwent a long journey from its initial build in 1947 to the completed restoration in 2010. It is great to know that a piece of our automotive history has been restored. Early in March we hosted a Ron Covell metalshaping work shop at Custom Auto. Eric Lammes’ 1951 Custom Chevy is well on its way to completion.
