  4. This is a complete grille set up for a 1940 Mercury all models. It consist of a Right & Left halve and also includes the center "spear" These parts are extremely rare, especially as complete set. They are vintage and made of cast aluminum with part numbers stamped in right and left hand sides. All bars are straight and no broken bars. A good polishing will have this set up looking like mirror chrome. $1500 to end auction I have it listed on ebay and I also have many other 1940 Mercury parts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/301060314072?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
  5. [h=3]This Little British car with a BBB has been on the road for a little over a year now and is currently in NC. I'd like to find a nice 1972 Buick Roadmaster to photograph along with our MG Roadmaster. Next week it will be in WV then continue a cross country tour over the summer. Below is a little info about this car. I know it's a stretch to post this on this message board but some of you may find it an interesting build. BritishV8 Enthusiasts Come Together to Complete a Magnificent Group Project[/h]The Roadmaster Project has largely been coordinated via a running thread on the BritishV8 message board. You can review the project's history and the car's continuing development here: "BritishV8 Forum / MG Sports Cars / MGB Roadmaster". The Roadmaster is currently on tour! You can monitor its progress from this message board thread: "BritishV8 Forum / MG Sports Cars / Roadmaster Events List". For further background information, here are two early articles about the Roadmaster Project: Roadmaster Status Report One and Roadmaster Status Report Two The photos in this "photo gallery" page were taken at or around Road Atlanta during "The Mitty" vintage car race over the April 27-29, 2012 weekend. High resolution originals of these photos are available for use in magazine articles and for other promotional purposes. Many additional detail and in-process photos are also available. Please note that ALL photos appearing on the BritishV8 website and message board are copyright protected unless specifically noted otherwise, so it's important that you contact us before publication. (It will only take a moment.) Please contact Curtis Jacobson via the "Contact" button at the top of this page for more information. MGB GT V8 - Roadmaster Project (explanatory side window decals) Towards the end of production the MG factory at Abingdon made available in the European market a V8 engine option for the MGB. To do so they used the smallest V8 engine ever produced by Buick, later sold to Rover, an all aluminum motor of 215 cu.in. or 3.5 liters. In keeping with that and American traditions, we of the British V8 community formed a Charitable Organization and built this car, taking the Buick/MG connection full circle by installing the largest Buick V8 engine ever produced, the mighty 455 Big Block. The cars final weight (under 2500 lbs) is 200 lbs more than average, half of that contributed by the engine. A front air ride suspension, custom bolt-in Jaguar IRS rear suspension and T5 transmission complete the drivetrain. Engine output is moderate at 500 hp and 500 ft/lbs, giving a horsepower to weight ratio of 5. The car displays the fine handling characteristics that the MGB was justly famous for, simply adding massive power to the mix, and by doing so epitomizes the GT or Grand Touring class. It is truly a master of the roads. The car is owned by the British American Deviant Automotive Sportscar Society, LLC (B.A.D.A.S.S.), which currently has upwards of 50 members, all of whom have contributed to this build. The project has been completed entirely by voluntary donations of time, components, supplies, parts, and money. It took under 5 years to complete. It will appear at the annual BritishV8 meets where rides can be taken. Between meets it will be on rotation amoung the contributors all around the country where it will be displayed at local schools, car meets, and other activities. Please feel free to look the car over. It has many nice custom touches not seen on regular production MGBs but remains true to the original concept, which is to take an established production model and increase performance and sporting potential. <![endif]--> This is the 1946 Lincoln Continental that started the Hurst Legend. This car is shown in earlier period photographs and still sports all of its Hurst modifications, including the original 500cid Cadillac V8. It is said to be the first car that George H Hurst modified in 1956 and sports many of George’s designs among her parts. It will be featured in a book coming out this summer; The History of George H Hurst. This legend was lost for many years, until 2004 when Carl discovered the brass plaque that had been covered up by a previous owners name plaque. Recently discovered in Springfield, OH, this ‘Grand Ol’ Gal’ will go on the open market soon. Unfortunately, Carl was killed in a no fault car accident while driving his 1946 Ford Roadster”. Being a vintage Corvette collector myself and having an appreciation for these old souls, I knew that Carl would want his car to go to a collector that would see her beauty. His untimely, sudden death, has precipitated this sale. Fate could put her in the hands of a collector that will give her the face lift she deserves and move her into her rightful place in history. I encourage you to visit: www.collectibleclassiccar.yolasite.com. There are several pictures and further history of this beauty there. It is not a pay site or spam or anything- just a simple page I made for the Lincoln. I have hundreds of digital photos for your review, upon request. She is in need of proper restoration. Having restored several classics myself, I find she needs fresh paint and a general overhaul. All of the parts are there and intact. The chrome is in stunning condition, but could certainly use the special touch of a loving hand. She has been in storage since her owners death in September, 2010. The most exciting aspect about this beautiful Lincoln is that she fires up on command, drives like a dream and Screams as loud as you want her to by just pressing down on the accelerator. As a member of the extended family, I am handling any inquires. I am not a broker. Offers are welcome and a percentage of the purchase price may be donated to charity. Please email me at ctrissel73@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Carol Professionally Appraised for $218,000. Asking @ $175,000. a precentage of sale may go to charity.

  15. A quick introduction I have been working in the restoration and hot rod field for 16 years and have spent the last ten with Custom Auto. The Marine Corps gave me my start in the sheet metal trade and from their went to school at McPherson College. was fortunate enough to be able to take an apprenticeship with Ron Fournier in Michigan, and then on to Colorado. I am sheet metal shaper by trade and still love my job. The Custom Auto crew has gotten 2010 off to a great start. Red Lang's "Dead End Kids Dragster," owned by Dave Crouse, underwent some preservation work. This car along with preservation-in-progress the “King and Hansen Belly Tank,” owned by David Duthu, were both able to attend the Grand National Roadster Show. We were fortunate to be involved in completing the restoration of the “Sorrell Manning Special” SR-100 owned by Dr Mark Brinker. Dave transported the car out to the Petersen Museum for their Fantasy in Fiberglass exhibit. Congratulations to Gary and Diane Cerveny for the RM Auctions Trophy For the Best Open Car at the Amelia Island Concours D’Elegance. The “Norman Timbs Special” underwent a long journey from its initial build in 1947 to the completed restoration in 2010. It is great to know that a piece of our automotive history has been restored. Ed Blais’ 1996 Factory prepped Porsche 993 was in the shop for some minor body work and a fresh coat of paint and is now ready for some track time. Early in March we hosted a Ron Covell metalshaping work shop at Custom Auto. Eric Lammes’ 1951 Custom Chevy is well on its way to completion. The restoration of Chet Herbert’s “Beast III,” owned by Dr. Mark Brinker, will be making huge strides in progress in the upcoming months to ensure we do not miss our current deadline. The 1932 five-window that Ray Rodman has owned since he was sixteen is now nearing the paint shop. We are also looking forward to getting a head start on a few other projects in the shop, as well as accepting any new projects coming down the line. Thanks to our great customer base, along with Dave Crouse’s lifetime collection of cars and parts, we can easily accommodate your next project. Custom Auto prides itself in building investment-quality projects that will fit within your given budget and maintain the automobile’s prestige and heritage.
