  1. Thanks, Now that I know where to look, I may find it hidden in a folder somewhere. 24 Roadster
  2. A card was in the DB News to check the info in the 2011 Roster for accuracy. Where do I find the 2011 Roster? 24 Roadster
  3. Thanks for the responses. My car, a 24 DB Roadster was my dads first car. Bought it out of a junk yard for $50 in 1936. My mother and dad dated in this car. The Dodge as my dad called it, sat in a field and rusted for 40 years. After retiring in 1984, he restored it to original condition. He only ask me to do two things before he died. 1. take care of your mother and 2. take care of the Dodge. Every winter I clean and detail the engine. Everything looks so good after cleaning and touching up the paint. Then I look at that rusty manifold and wonder what other DB owners do.
  4. I have a 24 Roadster. Does anyone paint their exhaust manifold? If so what paint and what color do you use? Thanks, 24 Roadster
  5. Before going to the expense of rebuilding you mag you might try this. One way to check if the mag is your problem is to replace your mag with a coil. Maybe borrow one from a pre 70s car. If it starts then your mag is bad. If not look somewhere else forthe problem. Rebuild your mag or run with a coil as I do. What about it guys will this work?
  6. Does anyone know if irons and bows for a 25 touring can be modified to fit a 24 Roadster? Thanks in advance, John
  7. Does anyone know any reason a 25 dodge deluxe sedan engine would not fit in a 24 roadster?
  8. Does anyone know what the oil can that is attached to the firewall of my 24 Roadster is for? I have been ask this several time and I hate to say I do not know. Is this original?
  9. I don't disagree with what you guys are saying. I would be saying the same thing. I am going to try several things. Tighten head bolts, new gasket, block sealant. However between these test, I want to be able to get any water out that slips by out of the oil pan without removeing the pan. Like I said before, I have not noticed the water level dropping in the radiator but I want to monitor it close to make sure I have the problem fixed. If fact, I check my water level regularly and I don't remember adding water all last year. I just hope it is not a cracked block.
  10. Let me try to explain the problem. When I removed my oil pan I found anti-freeze in the bottom of the pan. It was just a small green tint in the bottom of the pan. I don't know where it is coming from but it must be a small leak because I don't remember adding water last year. I cjheck to water level regularly and don't remember it going down. I am going to retighten the head bolts and add block stopleak to try to stop the leak. When you drain oil the "normal way" because the drain is not on the very bottom of the pan there is a little oil left in the bottom of the pan. This is where the water/antifreeze would be because water is heaver than oil. I was just trying to find a way to get this little amount oil/antifreeze off the bottom of the pan so if I did not completely stop the leak, I could at least get it out of the pan when I drained the oil. I am also wondering if the water boils off and the antifreeze does not. I have tried the syringe device with a flexable tube and it works fairly good but does not remove all the oil. Thaks for all the suggestions. 24 Roadster
  11. Yes, The more I think about it, I do not want to weld on the oil pan. It would be nice to find some type of device that did not required welding. I have found a syringe type device that I can suck most of the oil/antifreeze off the bottom of the pan. If all else fails I can use it. If I raise the right side of the car up most fluid would collect around the strainger hole so I can suck it out.
  12. I have a 24 Roadster. Has anyone ever put a drain plug in in the oil pan? Can the pan be welded on? When I removed the pan I found some antifreeze in the bottom of the pan. I am going to try to repair with stop leak but if some does slip by I would like to drain. The hole now leaves oil in the bottom of the pan where the antifreeze would be. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 24 Roadster
  13. I have a 24 Roadster. When Gluing the oil pan felt gaskets what type of adhesive have you guys found works best? Thanks in advance
