  1. Let me preface my statement with the fact that I know nothing about VARA or NHRA or any other racing equipment requirements.

Since you are interested in vintage racing, I am assuming you do not have a computer to worry about.

As I understand it, you need a highly visable switch that is accessable to track personnel. It must cut all power and kill the engine.

I would use this dpst switch https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/productdetails.asp?RecID=1464 and rather than the wiring diagram in your pdf, use this wiring diagram:

If you do not have an alterantor, disregard the resistor wiring circuit

  2. Good move Dave.

When something like that bothers me, the only solution is to change it.

Every time I would look at the car, it would be all I would see.  Even if no one else even notices it.

Be sure to let us see some pics!!!

  3. Hi Pete,

I hope you got a deposit.

If the deposit covers your costs and shipping it back to him, throw the parts in the car and ship it back.

I would not try to sell it for him.  That's not what you contracted for and it could tkae forever and will not end well.

I am not an expert on 4 door '37 Buicks, but in the state it is in now, I think it would be hard for him to get $1000.

    Good luck,

    Dwight

  4. Thanks Jon for sharing your expertise.

I will try some fitting tommorrow,

As much as I like to keep things original, this is a '22 Buick I am rebodying as a 1914 speedster.

I feel I have a little more leeway for improvements.

    I will post some pics.

    Thanks,

    Dwight

  5. Roger,

I never criticise anyone.  I know that sounds odd, but it is a code I keep.

But I do joke all the time and sometimes what is say is taken the wrong way.

So, I am going to take Roger's advice and put a smiley face after something I mean to be taken with jest.

    Thank you Roger. Good Idea.

Now as for the rest of you maglignant bums. . . Oh, i said I don't criticise..... never mind  :D

  6. Actually, There are several fanciful stories of how George Eastman can up with the name KODAK. His explanation was that even as a child he was fascinated with the letter "K"

He explained: "I devised the name myself. The letter 'K' had been a favorite with me -- it seems a strong, incisive sort of letter. It became a question of trying out a great number of combinations of letters that made words starting and ending with 'K.' The word 'Kodak' is the result." Eastman also selected Kodak's distinctive yellow trade dress, which is widely known throughout the world.
