Thanks to everyone who braved the weather to bring their Reattas down for the Auto Fair. We had people travel from as far western Michigan, Texas, and Maryland to attend.
Friday evening we had dinner at a local Italian restaurant. Saturday we met for breakfast at the Bojangles near the track.

We had a great representation across the spectrum of Reattas. The only car we didn't have was a 1991 coupe.

Sounds like your hose is too large. It should be a 5/32" hose.

The rear 6x9 setup was standard in 90 and 91, so the mounting baffles have to come from a 90 or 91 Reatta coupe. If Jim Finn doesn't have a pair of baffles to sell, I might have. I'll need some time to look, as if I do have a spare set they are buried in storage. Based on my work schedule, will be sometime next week before I get a chance to look for them.

When the top is installed it has flaps that are supposed to be secured to the tops of each of the bows. I imagine they were either not installed correctly, or have come loose. Not sure if there's a way to remedy the issue without removing the top, and that's almost impossible to do without damaging it.

I will be there in my 1991 coupe. The Reatta division is having a Rendezvous Thursday during the day. We'll have a tour at Celestial Seasonings in Boulder, then lunch at a local restaurant. Next we'll have an optional drive home on the scenic Peak to Peak highway that runs west of the Denver area.
The goal is to be back at the host hotel in time for the event at Rambler Ranch Thursday night

With the Claret 1990 coming in 6 days ago, and the black 88 coupe coming in 2 days ago, my inner city neighbors are wondering what is going on! This car though is right up my alley as I keep trying to buy a Maui car and I saw the other low mileage one you own in Colorado when it was up for sale.
The distance to Iowa would add $1500 + on transport and I just paid $700 to bring in a $650 parts car. I wish you would relocate to the central US!
$1500 is a little excessive. It's can be done for under $1000.
I have all the parts needed to put this one back together. I can put them all in the car so all is needed is installation. I'd be happy to toss a windsheild in it before it goes.

The paint really isn't awful for a daily driver I suppose. Just not up to my standards for one of my cars. More photos available to interested parties.

1 of 1 Maui Blue/saddle 1991 coupe with sunroof. 173,000 miles.
Two Maui blue coupes were made with saddle interior in 1991. This is the only one with a sunroof.
Very rough. Needs full restoration. Runs and drives. I'm working on fixing the check engine light. I believe it's a bad ECM.
The bad:
Paint is bad, sunroof is not working, crack in windsheild, a/c reportedly doesn't work (haven't tried it myself).
Seats, door panels headliner and carpet are all in poor shape. Tires are 10 years old. Headlights do not work (headlight switch has been replaced with toggle switch - oh boy)
The good:
It runs well and is largely rust free. Newer battery, no ABS lights. All four 1991 wheels are there with center caps. Instrument cluster works. A bunch of service records.
If you want to own a truly rare Reatta, this is the one for you. It needs a lot of love but you don't get much more obscure than this.
$1900 OBO. If I don't get any reasonable offers I'll likely part this puppy out.

By my calculations I should hit 2500 miles right as I'm rolling into registration at the 2018 Denver Buick meet. Granted, I'll be driving what most of you consider a "modern car" (1991 Reatta), but it's still 27 years old...

I found a $20 bill in one parts car. Another was just full of big red gum and Bobby pins.

I've sold dozens of control arms because of rust issues. Not an issue down here. Plenty of rust free arms.

That may have been true a few years ago but is not the case now. Everything has dried up from Mazda for the sunroofs as far as I know.

NOS = New old stock. New, never used parts but original equipment, not a reproduction.

I have a couple NOS ones available. Keep in mind the sunroof seals don't actually do much to keep the water out. If your sunroof is leaking into the passenger compartment, you may have a clogged drain or rusted pan on the sunroof. Better to pull the headliner and investigate first

Among other things, the color of the dip stick handle. Another Select 60 at the show was dinged for having a S60 emblem, and for the mirrors not being as shiny as the mirrors on the judge's Reatta.

Here's the way I see it.
1988 Select 60s never left the factory with the hood emblem. Neither did the 1990 Select 60s.
They are, however, both Select 60s. I don't think that either a 1988 or 1990 S60 should be considered "incorrect" with the Select 60 badge on.
The story I have from select 60 dealers at the time (3 different ones), is that the emblems were sent to the dealer as an award for both 1988 and 1990. Some of the Select 60 dealers didn't even take advantage of the option to buy their car. Sometimes it was rerouted to another dealer during a dealer trade.
The point is, I have seen 1988 Select 60s with and without the badge. I have also seen 1990 Select 60s with and without the badge. It's likely none of them ever left the factory with it. But does that mean it's incorrect?
I firmly believe that a Select 60 should not have points deducted in the BCA 400 point judging system for having a Select 60 hood emblem. This has happened several times to people having their cars judged by "Reatta Experts" whose information is no better than the next guys. I know one Select 60 owner in particular who told me he will never come back to a BCA meet becuase of how he was treated by the judges. They tore a 3,000 mile all original Select 60 to pieces. This isn't the way the BCA should look to new members.
I'm not sure the point that is trying to be made here. Everyone has "I heard ____ from ____" stories and there is no piece of paper stating anything of this sort.

People complain a lot about the Reatta not being on their favorite up an coming collector car list, but then are so quick to tell someone they overpaid for their Reatta, or say that a seller is asking way too much money for their car.
Higher prices will make these cars noticed and more collectable. It's like your neighbor selling his house top dollar. Nobody complains when their property values go up...
