  1. Made it to beautiful Van Horn tonight. Hope to be in Pueblo tomorrow as well. Probably staying at the Microtel.

Did a last minute fuel injector change this evening after dinner. I kept getting poor milage and high idle which I believe is due to a sticky injector. Luckily I brought an extra set. Also stopped by Little Reata Ranch in Marfa, TX. From the movie Giant and where the Reatta's name originated

  2. I'll be swinging through south Texas on I-10. Staying in Van Horn 6/17, then heading north stopping at Carlsbad Caverns.

If all goes well we should roll in Tuesday afternoon. I know I'm driving what most of y'all consider a "modern car" (1991 Reatta), but it's still a 27 year old car and can be prone to issues. This will be the second cross country trip for this car (bought it in Colorado in 2016 and drove it home), and I think she'll do just fine.

No there has't been a breakfast the last couple of years because too many of us wish or "have" to attend the Board of Directors Meeting at 8AM, Last year we met in the parking lot on Thursday evening, and in Allentown, we met at a restaurant for dinner.

Yeah, I was aware of that, just wasn't sure if there was anything planned for this year yet

In the bar after the Membership meeting!

I think there will be a lot of people who will be doing that...

I'll be there with my wife in my 1991 Reatta coupe. We're taking a roundabout way through New Orleans, San Antonio, New Mexico and such.

When we get there Tuesday afternoon, we'll be staying at the host hotel. We'll be attending the Reatta Rendezvous Thursday, the Rambler Ranch cookout, and the awards banquet. We'll be doing some touring on our own too. I'm not too interested in paying money to sit on a bus when I drove my car there.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

  6. I'll be bringing a bunch of parts to the national meet this year. Let me know if you want something specific. I have a super nice set of blue standard seats I would like to get rid of. Give me a call at 919.233.1973 or email me at Marck@eastcoastreattaparts.com to make arrangements. I will be there starting Tuesday afternoon through Sunday morning.

  7. From the 4 or 5 dealers that I have talked to (owners and general managers) of Select 60 dealers, you became a Select 60 dealer not so much by sales numbers but by customer satisfaction. Not sure how they measured that, but it was a huge player in if you became one or not. That way, I suppose, a purely volume delwrr couldn't get in unless they also we're doing a great job on the customer service side.

I'll put a feeler out to a couple dealers I know that were in the Select 60 program and see what they can tell me.

  8. I usually use a flat head screwdriver in the notches and tap it with a hammer to turn it. Or you can grab it with a pair of pliers. It's a pretty robust piece and is hard to really damage.

More trivia........the optional seat does not have 16 movements....."16 way seat" was a Riviera option and in some parts books called the "Hoover" seat.....it had a power headrest but the headrest part did not make it to the Reatta but marketing carried over the name.

The true 16 way seats I've seen in Rivieras have "wings" on the seat bottom bolsters that move those in and out. Not power headrests. Power head rests were more of a Cadillac thing.

Went into the igloo this morning just to look at my Reatta.  Local to me cruise-ins start next week (1st week of May), so I'll be sharing driving time between Reatta/Riviera.  Predicted temps in eastern MA all of next week are to be in the upper 70's/low 80's...yahoo!!

Are you going to make it to Denver this year? Missed you in Milwaukee last year.

  11. The 2018 Reatta Rendezvous will take place Thursday June 21st in Boulder, CO

We will meet at 10:00 AM at Celestial Seasonings Tea Company for a tour and tea sampling.  Afterwards, we will have a buffet lunch at Chautauqua dining hall with chicken and vegetarian options. Salad, Non-alcoholic beverages, desert and tip will be included.

Next we will have an optional scenic drive back to the host hotel along the Peak to Peak highway (Maps will be provided). We will be back at the hotel in time for the BCA event at Rambler Ranch

Rendezvous registration form.will be forthcoming. Though RDiv membership is not required, it's highly encouraged. PLUS, it's easy to join or renew. I've attached the Rendezvous registration form from the upcoming newsletter. As well as a photo of the scenic route back.

For those who are not members and would like to join the Reatta division, you can find the membership form here: http://reatta.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/Reatta-Application-Revised-8-2017.pdf

Look forward to seeing you in Denver!
