  1. So a question I have: When GM consolidated its automobile lines, getting rid of Saturn, Pontiac, and Oldsmobile, why did they keep GMC? They are just rebadged Chevys, but they maintain a whole separate dealership system for GMC. Don't understand why
  2. New price $3000 or reasonable offer. Sold my cars, needs to go. Just outside Concord, NH.
  3. I have been away this winter and have not pushed the sale of this trailer. Ready to let it go-come see it and make reasonable offer and it will be yours. Car show season is here, pamper your baby.
  4. Wells Cargo 24" car trailer, well equipped. Four wheel electric brakes, 5 new rims and trailer tires, nose cone, 4 D rings, load leveling hitch included. Recent service, all works. Located near Concord, NH. $3500 or near offer. Hershey is coming fast, pamper your car with clean enclosed trailer. (603) 496-0071, wstone1@comcast.net
  5. New Price!! $19,500. Worth more, but the market seems soft. Consider near offers.
  6. Thought this was sold, the fellow backed out. Still on the market. Ad about to come out in Hemmings, get it before someone else does. This is a good one.
  7. A related question. How to pay for a car or other expensive item at an event like Hershey? Cash sounds like a bad idea. Can you wire money to the sellers account when you are hundred of miles from your own bank? A few years ago I bought a car at Hershey. The seller lived in the next state over from me. I gave him $1000 in cash, he took the car back to his house. I showed up a few days later with payment and took the car home. In retrospect, I'm not sure it was a good idea for either of us. Needed a lot of trust, and neither of us had ever met the other person. Fortunately we were both honest.
  8. I came as a spectator this year, no show field or flea market spot. What was the HERCO spectator lot like on Saturday? Thursday afternoon, when the rain began to come down hard, it was getting muddy in some spots. With 9 inches of rain after that, I would think the field would get pretty bad.
  9. When I owned a 1950 Chevrolet with the original 216 engine, a number of knowledgeable people (at least they claimed knowledge) said it was too bad that the engine did not have the newer bearings, but was an engine with babbitts. Some comments were along the lines of "too bad, you really cannot drive a car like this without destroying the engine" and so on. I like to drive my old cars, and would ask this list these questions: 1. Are engines with babbitts so weak that you cannot drive at 60 MPH? 2. Any solutions other than getting rid of the car? 3. Which cars between 1930 and 1960 have babbitt engines? 4. Are some babbitted engine more durable that others? Thanks for your help. Love this Forum!
  10. At 4:20 this afternoon, called hotel at the correct telephone (215) 448-2000. No rooms available at AACA rate. Did get a room at AAA rate of $129.
