  1. ive decided to replace my ragged rear speakers with 6x9s using 1990 panels.im assuming the new speakers have to be flat at the front.also do i hook them only to the larger speaker wiring or tie the wiring together from both speakers?

Don't you Reatta owners feel bad, owning a Chrysler TC by Maserati is probably worse in that writers opinion. I feel your pain.94852030-758F-4AED-9C5A-E249C0370428_1_201_a.thumb.jpeg.c8631c53eeca4a9dff7ed0e7849fa8db.jpeg

I have over 285 thousand miles on this car. The best thing I did was replace the Teves ABS brake system with a standard vacuum booster & normal 4 wheel disc brake MASTER CYLINDER.

This is a current photo of my 1989 2.2L turbo-intercooler TC, also converted to a 5 speed manual transaxle.

i will be pretty happy if my car reaches 285000 miles.btw maybe chryslers are better cars than i thought.

Flushing (draining) engine oil is not the same issue as the transmission.

When you drain the engine oil you get almost all the old oil (you must also change the filter at the same time)

As noted above, on the transmission you only get 5-6 quarts when you drop the pan because there are many devices in the transmission that

hold fluid,  the torque converter holds the most.    So on transmissions you are pushing out the old fluid with new fluid.

That is not necessary with the engine oil.

doesn't the fluid in the torque converter stay in the torque converter?

Need more cooler options........there are a lot out there.   Here are a few.

I add a auxiliary cooler to the transmission....go with the big ones for the transmission.

If this is for an 89 the procedure is on page 3f2-7 and on. The "special tool" is probably to compress the lock plate and remove the clip though may also need a steering wheel puller. Key must be in accessory position to remove.

" i ordered a new switch " you need to remove the steering wheel for the lock cyl. The ignition switch is on the base of the steering column and must drop the column to change.

i could have made this more clear.i need to change the lock cylinder.

I watch Doug from time to time.  Not really interested in any of his commentary per se, but do enjoy getting a close up look of some of the neat cars he reviews.  I am surprised over the overall appearance of the Reatta he was reviewing.  It looked sort of on the rough side.  He could have at the very least washed it.  On the plus side, all the electronics worked correctly.  One thing I noticed on the subject vehicle, it was equipped with the Twilight Sentential.  I thought that was only available on the Riviera. It seems I recall a post many years ago regarding how to install that feature on a Reatta.   Also the delay switch on the wiper control appeared different than I remembered.  I don't really care if he liked the car on not.  I enjoyed mine for the 10 years I owned it.  I'm sure many members of the forum like their cars a lot as well.

its a riv headlight switch.i have the same switch.

  7. its running MUCH better now.two problems.bad fuel pump relay and when i went with the coil pack from the 94 bonneville i checked the output side of the coils and replaced one.since it still ran bad i bought another coil pack from a late nineties car.it ran better but not good.then i checked the input side of the coils from the first coil pack and found another bad coil.today i combined the three good coils from the second coil pack and the module from the first coil pack and instant improvement,it runs smooth and the mpg jumped from eleven to  seventeen.i only went about five miles.i will drive it more tomorrow.
