JFranklin
I replaced the original sealed beams in my '48 Ply. with halogen ones and they seem to shine too high on the road. Is there any reason for this since I didn't change the original adjustment. Edited July 25, 2018 by JFranklin (see edit history)
Bloo
The aim should have stayed the same, more or less, but I guess you already know that. Make sure the glass tabs all dropped into their little slots. I suspect bad quality of the bulbs, and probably you will have to aim them. About 2 winters ago I had a sealed beam fail on my truck in a snowstorm. I bought what was on the shelf at Oreilly, and that was Halogen. I noticed when installing the new Halogen bulb that the lens fluting and brand was identical to the remaining incandescent sealed beam on the other side of the truck. After installing the new bulb on the driver's side I noticed it was shooting 3 distinct beams of light straight up in the air on low beam, lighting up the falling snow right in front of me. Rubbish, absolute rubbish. The incandescent sealed beam on the other side, with identical lens fluting, was doing fine. I rarely drive it, but the next time I have to take it on a trip in the winter, I think I will buy it some E-Code headlights.
