bobg1951chevy
This is an exceptional vehicle , this is NOT a car that has been rebuilt from the ground up, due to rust out or physical damage, etc. Instead, it is a preserved survivor, not many out there any longer, sad to say. Back in 1999 and 2000, I spent one year of active "hunting" to find a 1951 Chevy 2 door sedan, with this level of survivorship. A beautiful survivor with one paint refinish. This black '51 STYLELINE DELUXE 2 DOOR SEDAN has been in my care since the year 2000. I am only the THIRD OWNER. Car built in Janesville, Wisconsin in July of 1951. 1st owner: 1951 to 1988 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 2nd owner: 1988 to 2000 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 3rd owner: (me) 2000 to present in Madison, Ohio and Hendersonville, North Carolina. Car was refinished once, in 1995. Base coat / clear coat paint. Original Mayland Black color, as it left the factory in 1951. All moldings, bumpers and glass, were removed at time of refinish, to do a correct paint refinish. Body has zero rust, no paint bubbles, no paint peeling. Paint has very good appearance. Front and rear bumpers and optional rear trunk bumper guard are original chrome plating, NOT replated. Bumpers are VERY presentable, I would replate bumpers if car would be entered into judging events. Original seat upholstery still in car, very good condition, with exception of a dime size hole on drivers seat cushion. Headliner was replaced by second owner, due to discoloration, full carpeting was added by second owner to replace factory rubber floor mat covering. All gauges, including speedometer, work, as designed. Car has optional push button radio, optional deluxe fresh air heater, optional turn signals and clock. All work as designed. Back up lamps operate with toggle switch. Original floor mat in trunk, in excellent condition. Good spare tire, with factory issued rim and jack assembly included. Engine was upgraded with a 1955 235 cubic inch six cylinder CHEVY engine AND rebuilt at 88,000 miles. Current odometer reading is approximately 102,500 miles. This 1955 235 cubic inch engine replaces the 1951 216 cubic inch six cylinder engine. I added FENTON CAST IRON DUAL EXHAUST MANIFOLDS and dual exhaust system, around 2001. NEWER 6 volt battery with NEWER 2 / 0 heavy duty battery cables. New clutch assembly was added at the same time engine was replaced.. 3 speed column shift standard transmission and torque tube differential are original. Runs well, rides nice, shifts nicely. New fuel tank and fuel tank sending unit were replaced in 2011. Tires are bias 6:70 x 15 white wall tires, good tread, mounted on the stock pin striped wheels. Factory wheel stainless trim rings and small hub caps are on the wheels. CLEAR AND CLEAN OHIO TITLE. SERIAL NUMBER ON CAR BODY MATCHES TITLE NUMBERS PRECISELY. VALID OHIO HISTORIC LICENSE PLATES. My 1951 Chevy Custom Fit Car Cover Is Included With Purchase. Car is located in Northeast Ohio. $20,000. Any questions or concerns, please advise.
