21raceabout
Looking for instructions or tips on the disassembly/reassembly of a 1915 C-25 rear axle/differential. Have not worked on one of this vintage before. Rear wheels, hubs, outer bearings are off, all the brake hardware, stiffening rods and the drive shaft housing with pinion gear have been removed. We have found plenty of sticky goo inside and the ring and pinion gear teeth look OK. Thanks!

cxgvd
I, meaning a mechanic, machinist, rebuilt my c25 axle using new bearings and seals. I have a list of the bearing numbers he used, you are welcome to them. I can also give you his contact info, though his wife is currently ill. Regards, Gary
Mark Shaw
Take notes on the ring & pinion locations prior to disassembly. My 13 Buick had castellated nuts that adjust the location of the ring gear. I counted the turns on the nuts so I could restore the original settings.
