RichBad
Hi, Im rebuilding my starter and it has quite a lot of play (front to rear) and I'm thinking there could be a spacer or bush missing. Does anyone have an exploded view/ drawing of the motor showing the correct parts? thanks!

RichBad
I figured out the problem - it had a home made centre bush support. Should be ok with a few spacers - is the end play set between the centre bush support and washers behind the commutator?
