1984 olds hurst interchange body parts?

Somewhere in that model year mix, GM started to use aluminum hoods on the intermediate cars, but not all.  If yo do find one with an aluminum hood, you'll ALSO need the hood spring part of the hood hinges. The aluminum, being lighter in weight, had weaker hinge springs than the cars with the heavier steel hood.  In any event, you'll need a "matched set" of hood and hood hinge springs.  In some cases, anyway, it's easier to just unbolt the hood hinges from the fenders and remove the hood and hinges as a unit, lifting it all off of the donor vehicle and then reinstalling on the receiving vehicle.  No worries about a loose hood slicing back into the windshield or fenders that way!

I don't recall any aluminum deck lids, though.  I believe the Hurst cars all had a read deck lid spoiler, which might have an accompanying stronger torsion bar set due the additional weight of the spoiler, but it also might be just an adjustment (with more preload on the bars to counterbalance the addition weight of the spoiler) that is needed.  Otherwise, once you open the deck lid, it might fall back a little and contact your head.
