Hello,

I have this cassette that came in another car I purchased.  No idea what car it would have been originally from, or if it has any value.

I have no use for it and just wondered if anyone out there was looking for this kind of thing?

Feel free to chime in on its value - or offer to purchase?

The case is a bit broken on one side...

Any response welcomed.

Sheldon

I see that the case looks dirty or soiled, but it is just dust in between the paper and the case. Wipes right off.

It was common for factory radios with cassette tape to have a cassette of selected music to showcase and demonstrate the sound system for the new buyer.  Other GM brands and Ford brands did similar, starting with the earlier 8-track stereo tape units.  I have a box full of Mercury cassettes from the middle 1980s that I "rescued" before they were going to be disposed of, otherwise.  I figured I might record over them for other purposes, but never did . . . all still in the wrapper.

The audio owner's manual is interesting and goes along with the earlier "Books on Tape" products of the middle and later 1980s.

I would think there should be a printing or copyright date on it somewhere, in very small print.

Sheldon, it definitely has interest to a collector,

and it's a part of Buick history that should be preserved.

Anyone could substitute an identical plastic case

to solve that problem.

I think it's something that might be in a swap meet's $1.00 bin.

Someone else might ask $5.00 for it.

Isn't it great that many interesting things can be found

for modest prices?
