48woodie
I am trying to ship two sets of 1942 to 1948 Ford Rain Gutters from Homer Glen, Il. to Roswell, New Mexico. The packaging will be 2"x 12'. I have tried Greyhound with no luck...to long. USPS, UPS, Fedx.....to long. Freight Shipping...to much. About $ 350.00 ?????? Any ideas ? Any body driving through on I-80 heading to or through Roswell, NM. ?? Thanks, Mike
Restorer32
We just had 4 pieces of aluminum trim 12' long shipped from Florida to PA truck freight. Cost was $90. When shipping by truck you have to be very careful what the item ships as. For instance "Used Auto Parts" ships at an entirely different rate per pound than say "New Auto Parts". Call your local trucking company and ask them. See if they have a classification for "Raw Materials" or maybe "Used Auto Parts". We shipped a 500# skid of antique car parts from PA top Oregon for less than $400. It's all in the rate structure.
NewOldWood
Fastenal will ship items that UPS or FedEx wont from store to store if there is one close enough on either end. I have used them before and the rates were reasonable.
