Guest bradwig
Hello! First time posting here, so I analogize if this topic is a little off in any way.I bought a 90' Reatta a few months ago in pretty good shape and haven't has any issue until recently. I suspected it was running lean the last week or so and then when I got a "service engine soon" light and the code E044 I knew that was the issue. The problem is that I can't find this suspected vacuum leak despite my best efforts. A little bit of AC always comes out from my defroster vents, maybe it's somehow related?? Or maybe it's not a vacuum leak causing this at all? I'm just wondering if anyone has solved a similar issue or has any ideas. Either way, thanks a lot! handmedownreatta
have you tried spraying carburator cleaner around the engine?
Guest bradwig
Yes, but since it's already revving itself while it idles it's difficult to note which rpm changes are from me spraying.
jonlabree
I would check the small black vacuum line that goes into the fire wall. It controls the heater and A/C. If it is cracked or broken it could be causing your problem.
Guest bradwig
That seems like it might be right Jon. I can hear a faint hissing coming from that area when I turn off the car. I'll post back here after I investigate it more tomorrow. Thanks!
padgett
Makes sense since the black plastic roundish thing is a resovoir. Leak could also be in the cruise control.
