PIN STRIPE COLOR

Recommended Posts

Look in the trunk by the spare tire and you will find the Service parts label......  it will have a bunch of codes and there is one ...the first two digits will be numbers followed by an "A"

That would be the color it was painted at Lancing.

The order form "suggests" the pinstripe match the interior color.    Blue cars with blue interior would be a case where you could use a blue pinstripe but it might not be that noticeable.

Most bright red cars with tan interior used the gold stripe, but other stripe colors have been noted on bright red cars.

There were 8 stripe color choices in 1990,  but reduced to 7 in 1991.

Thanks John,...  the photo was taken by the Buick photographer of a Reatta in the GM wind tunnel.   I was told it was once hanging on the wall in the 3800 engine plant.

You can see the reflection of the flood lights on the hood and if you could blow it up, there are chains holding it in place.
