Drivers headlight motor closes but wont open after rebuild

Ok, I replaced the rollers and arms on both the passenger side and drivers side. The passenger side operates perfect the way it should. The drivers side will go up the first try after assembly, but after it closes it seems like it is over torqueing the arm and it locks itself in the closed position and will not come back up unless I do it manually. What could be causing this to happen? Any help would be appreciated, I have taken the motor apart and re-assembled it just to make sure it was right and it is. Thanks

I don't know if you can see it very well without removing the motor. Make sure the rear portion of the crank arm is positioned in the center of the frame so the rubber bumper hits the stops properly. (See first photo). If the bumper isn't hitting the stop in the center as it should you  may need to add washers between the motor and the frame to move it out as shown in the last two photos.

I agree with Ronnie......... you may not have the arm/bellcrank fully seated and it is sliding past the stop and locking.

Test it without the headlight in place so you can see what is happening.

Thank you for the replies, I got it figured out. The crank was fully seated and hitting where it should. After taking the whole thing apart a few times I Finally noticed that one of the screws the hold the housing with the brushes and shaft in it was broken off. In return when it would close, it would bind it up and lock it. I drilled the broken screw out and put a bolt and nut thru it and tightened it back up and that fixed my problem. Thank you for your advice on the subject though. I am wondering if anyone else has run into this problem. Thanks again.

Yes they are. I have noticed that no matter how many times a subject has been asked about, nobody just gets an attitude and says crap like we already talked about it go look it up for yourself or anything like that. They just tell you it has been talked about and found a solution, here's the link to it. I have nothing but respect for the people on this site that have put time and effort into everything. Including having parts made or finding a good source for them, as well as repairing stuff for others. My hat is off to the great people on this site THANK YOU ALL
