Leif Holmberg
I`m quite sure it`s very hard to tell the year from a casting number, all engines have a engine number stamped .1936 and up ,I don`t know the year, stamped on a pad on the right side of engine at the front push rod cover for all series. Why not ask the questin on Buick Forum if scroll down a little bit. Guest shadetree77
I suggest you contact fellow forum member and Buick numbers guru Dave Corbin here: AACA Forums - View Profile: DaveCorbin . I'm pretty sure you have an engine from a '52 out of a 50 series car but he will be able to tell you for sure.
