Large 1920's Accessory Spotlights?

STAYGOLD

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have just recently aquired these large mid to late 1920's accessory spotlights.

These lights are complete with mounts. Each lens reads "Smith Lens" at the top.

The lights with mounts measure 18 1/8" tall and the actual light housing measures 10 1/4" in diameter.

Curious to know if these were factory installed parts or aftermarket parts, and obviously what exactly they might fit.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

I think these are pairs of drum headlights for medium-sized cars, complete with mounting stanchions or forks, late teens or early 20s cars. These probably went on a number of different makes of cars, or possibly fire engines. Any identification on the lights? Incidentally, my Locomobile has similar lights, but they are 12 inches in diameter. That's why I said a medium size car. For more info, you might contact Donald Axlerod, who specializes in lights. He advertises in Hemmings.

Wow! I have one of those. The lens is different, but the rest is the same. Since I got mine I have researched it and I came up with two makes that it fit. The Doble steam car and the Roamer. Here is the Roamer with those lamps and photos of the one I have.
