ID Numbers

Okay, I have my 1918 DB Touring all apart, and I'm looking at the different numbers on it. Stamped on the crossframe, passenger side: 245924; cast on the rear engine support: 2B6198; stamped just below that number: A-9; stamped on the rear engine support: 211 686. The engine ID is odd - the flat surface is not like any of the pictures in any of my books - instead, it's a rectangle about 1 1/2 by 5/8, and instead of having a letter followed by numbers, it has a small circle with - I think, the number 19 in it. I'm a bit nervous, wondering if I got a "Heinz 57", instead of a 1918 DB. Any suggestions?

Willie, Well, the good news is according to your frame number your car is 1918 and was built Mar/Apr '18. A correct engine number should be appx. 50,000 higher or near that 286198 number you mention. Other numbers will be found all over and are usually casting numbers and special numbers for factory info regarding oversize pistons, etc. So, enjoy your 1918 Dodge Brothers.
