  1. Wow! So much discussion on headlights, I want to add my two cents. Working graveyard for 14 years, I always had to deal with bright headlights. One night, I was being blinded by an oncoming car. I flashed my brights, no response, so I flashed them again. That car was a cop - hit his flashing lights, turned around, pulled me over. He came on real strong, until he saw my dash cam on, then just gave me a warning. Thinking about it after, I realized they probably have their headlights high, to see licenses at night. What I have to deal with now, is all the big pickup trucks that had lift kits installed, but never adjusted their lights.
  2. I also have another larger portion of the ‘51 Buick grille, inside trim, center rear glass. Just need to downsize, so price isn’t important.
  3. If anyone can use this, just pay shipping. Hate to take it to the dumps. Contact me at my email: gfharper625@gmail.com

  5. My Klaxon - 5 arrived today. Hooked it up to 12 volt battery, and it works! Now to clean it up, paint it. Thanks to all who helped! Willy
  6. Got both, so I’m set. Thanks - and yes, my 1918 is 12 volt.
  7. I have two horns, one a North East, the other has no tags or ID. eBay has just the tapered horn, but I can’t get on eBay to buy it - it’s only $30. I thought, if possible, I could put the tapered horn tube on one I already have. Does that sound possible?
  8. Just putting the (new spoked) wheels together. Long way from finishing, but getting there.
  9. Yes, that’s the one. Thanks!
  10. You’re talking computer language - I only have my phone. It doesn’t copy and paste that I can find.
  11. JV, the “countless hours” kept you away from the TV, computer, the stress of everyday life. It’s kinda like our “yoga”. And we don’t even have to wear those silly tights!
  12. Don’t know how to transfer a picture from my saved pages, but the horn on the klaxon-5 is wide at the base, and narrows as it goes out.
  13. Need Klaxon-5 horn for my 1918 DB Touring. Anybody?
  14. Looking for an original Klaxon-5 horn with reversed tapered cone for my 1918 DB Touring car. Anybody?
  15. What I have is one North East, the other looks the same, but no tag, plate or marking. Are the Klaxton - 5’s hard to find?
  16. Does anybody have a photo of the original horn for the 1918 DB Touring?
  17. I watch for tractor auctions - they show nicely restored antiques for auction. I agree about Mecum - very frustrating!
  18. Fate has smiled on me - a gentleman not too far from me needs parts to finish a Whippet he’s restoring, and is willing to work a deal to take all I have. I realize what some say, about the value. Value is not always in dollars, and my dream of restoring this car back to original is moving to someone else’s hands. I’m restoring a 1918 DB Touring, and realize hanging on to the Whippet is not practical.
  19. I’m willing to negotiate, but many parts to complete this car are scattered through the parts stash. If it’s worth your time, come down, and let’s talk. I am downsizing, and would prefer to remove the entire lot. My email is: gfharper625@gmail.com. Willy
  20. Has the original seats - two bucket type, fold forward seats, complete bottom and back to the rear seat. I have the wood portion of the steering wheel, the glass to the stop light, many extra parts.
  21. Hard to step back, since it’s in a shed. Anything you don’t see is either in the garage or blue green shed - hood, grille, engine, radiator.
  22. Blue green shed is full of mostly Whippet parts. Been collecting fourty years:
  23. Look on a map - Marion is in the north west corner of Montana. More photos:
  24. Yes, here’s more photos: Most all the hard to find parts are there. let me know, I have more.
  25. I have a small shed full of Whippet parts, including radiators, transmissions, wheels, covering all years. Also have a 1928 Whippet coach to restore. Motor out, apart, ready to restore. More photos on request. Pick up only in Marion, Montana. $6000. Negotiable.
