bullrun
I have seen several restored model 80C at shows but was unable to find the owners. The Buick Parts manual shows a different front motor mount for the 80C-Open Car- from the 80 Series closed Car. This was also confirmed last week at Hershey with Steele Rubber. They told me they don't have a mold for the 80C Mounts. Any 80C owners out there who can tell me if they had their mounts recast and if not-what did they use in their place. Thanks in advance
bobj49f2
I rebuilt the motor mounts in my '37 Special myself. I haven't had the car running yet so I haven't been able to test them out. I started out looking for alternatives to sending my mounts out. I searched the net and found a rice burner site where the members recast their stock motor mounts because the stock mounts couldn't handle the torque of their modified engines and they couldn't find mounts that could so they rebuilt them their selves. Here is what I did, I offer this as a suggestion:http://www.fatfenderedtrucks.com/motor_mount_rebuild.html
