ARUCKEY
HelloNeed help to I.D. of this hubcap which is one of four. It is not a spanish conquisdor which is used on DeSoto. It appears to be a Knight Templar.ThanksAl Detroit
drwatson
Studebaker comes to mind, but I'm not sure. (Stude coat of arms has a Templar) Is there a date on the piece of newspaper sticking out?
keiser31
Dodge Royal Lancer 1957. Here is the full size wheelcover of '57. Edited December 7, 2009 by keiser31 (see edit history)
ARUCKEY
Keiser31You hit the nail on the head. I went to Google images and typed in 1957 dodge lancer and it came up with a photo of the same hubcap. Now and can sleep tonight! Plan to polish them up and put them on E-bay. Should be a nice addition to someone with a dodge lancer.ThanksAl Ruckey
keiser31
Yep...the full wheelcover is common. Those Lancer dogdish caps are RARE.
drwatson
Another good score by "keiser31".What's even rarer is the orig. gold emblem still looks great. Many moons ago, I learned the hard way "polishing" gold plated or anodized surfaces is not a great idea.(esp. if in nos cond. and only dirty) Plain warm water along with use of an old soft paint brush is easy on the thin gold finish and yields fine results. Rinse and pat dry. Edited December 8, 2009 by drwatson add info (see edit history)
ARUCKEY
To: DRWatsonThanks for tip on cleaning the gold. I was thinking of buffing it, but not just soap and water.ThanksAl Detroit
