Guest Microautos
We found this automobile body here in San Jose, Costa Rica.We do not know what make it is. It is in good overall condition, but as you can see, very incomplete. It has suicide doors, which I thought was an interesting bit of information. Can someone help identify it. We have not got a clue as to what it is.Thank you.George

1937hd45
I believe that is an Essex from around 1928.The chassis were very popular with race car builders in early 1930's.
alsfarms
I concurr, the body is likely a 1928 or 29 Essex. I had one just like this one a few years back. It ended up being a 1929. Good luckAl
Guest Microautos
Thank you very much for your fast replies.I had been looking at the front page of the March/April 2005 issue of the club's magazine, which shows a lovely red/black Essex from 1930, but that one has regular doors, not suicide type doors. The rest of the car is just about the same.Thank you again.Happy and Healthy 2006.Georgehttp://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/gblau/my_photos
tomchaney
If you do a Google image search for "1929 Essex" you will find two very clear photos at the bottom of the page... suicide doors and all.
