Guest rustfever
I have a very nice 1917 IHC model F truck. The wood wheels/cast iron-rubber tires are in reasonably great shape, save one. One has shrunk thus allowing the cast/rubber tire to become loose. The truck just came to the San Joaquin Valley of Calfironia [dry] from Baltimore, MD.[humid] I have been told to submurge the wheels into linseed oild for several months to allow the wheel to swell back into it orignal condition. Is this the way to handle the problem? Are there other ways to accomplish the desired results?Rustfever
West Peterson
Try Miller Buggy Shop. They do solid rubber wooden wheels.Andy Miller19743 212th StBoomfield IA 52537641-664-1484

oldiron
Rustfever; DO NOT SOAK YOUR WHEELS IN ANYTHING; i.e. including linseed oil. Send your wheels to an accomplished wheelwright if they need attention, and your not capable of it. I too have used Calimers with great success.
