PatsUsedParts
Hello Riv buddies. I wanted to do a "nice thing" for my son. So while he is using my truck to move this week, I decided to repair the opera lamps on his 92 Riv. Well, now that the unit is off the car, I can't see how you get in it to replace the bulb! I am guessing that GM expects you to just buy the new marker assy at $55 each. I am hoping somebody here has experimented with cutting these open and just putting in a new bulb. Hints ?? Advice?? Sweepspear
Pat,Unfortunately, those are replaced as a complete unit.I know because I looked into replacing the ones on a '90 Riviera I owned. At the time, ('95 I believe) they were $35.00 at the Buick dealer.Like you, I took it off and scratched my head as to how to get to the bulb.Dale
sosuzguy
Hi Pat did you see my earlier email about these lights on the 79-85's? These are simular, I suppose. I don't think there are bulbs in them, rather they are like a mini florescent light. I don't think they are serviceable.
Schancy
Since both of you seem knowledgeable, could you tell me where to find a set of replacement opera lamps for a 1979 Buick Riviera? Both no longer light up, and I would like to replace them if I can.Thank you!
