Anyone have a lead on a set of '37 or '38 headlights?

I have good condition headlight buckets on my car, but no internals (reflector, blub, etc) and no lenses or rings. The one person I can find with the headlight parts I need is willing to sell me the internals, lenses and rings for $550 <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Does anyone know where I can get them cheaper? I would even be happy to retrofit other parts if there is another GM model with similar internals...

I suppose that if that's the going price, that's the going price. But before I lay out that kind of cash I wanted to check out the resources here.

Thanks!

Grant,

You can get the bulbs from Bob's Automobilia.

Have you tried Dave Tacheny for the other stuff?

If you get stuck, I may have a pair of reflectors but they would need to be plated or silvered which ever is correct. I also think I have 1 lens and ring (right I beleive).

Are you still shooting to use this as your wedding car?

Good luck,

Glenn

Hi guys,

No, I have not contacted Axelrod...do you have his contact info?

I did contact Tacheny last night, and it looks like I can get the guts and lenses from him for $300 total, which is still expensive but a significant improvement.

I am still planning on using this as my wedding car! I am working on it 2-3 nights a week as well as all of this weekend, all of next weekend and two additional weekdays.

Remaining on the "to do" list is:

Install front and back windshields

Reinstall door panels and hardware

Valve adjustment

Install all lights (rear and running lights are wired and bench tested, headlights TBD)

Hook up and test wipers

Color sanding and paint touch-up

Install hood sides and hood

Install exterior trim

Insure and register car

Drive to and from wedding!

I'm sure shooting for it!
