Guest alex_houston
I find one sensor under the MAF on the driver side of the engine. I have searched six engines for one on the generator side but cannot find one over there. Can someone explain where the coolant temp sensor near the generator is please? I am begining to think I don't know what I am looking for. Thanks
Roadster90
There is only one coolant sensor...what makes you think more and why????You found the coolant sensor....under the MAF.You have an alternator...not generator....
Guest alex_houston
Thanks, that clears it up. The factory parts list calls for one by the "gen", as well as the '88 Reatta service manual printed in '87. I really didn't think another exists but could the books be wrong? In other posts, I have seen others looking for this mysterious sensor as well. 2seater
There are some 3800's that use two sensors, one for the guage (or idiot light) and one for the fans, but the Reatta does not. One sensor is used by the ECM to perform multiple functions. Manuals that cover multiple cars lines can lead to this type of confusion.
