JMorgan
Why does this owner's manual not look like others identified on ebay as a 1940 Desoto Owner's Manual?
TG57Roadmaster
May be 'cause it's a 1941 DeSoto Owner's Manual. Look at the grille, then look at a '40 DeSoto. You could spend a lifetime on ebay correcting seller's bloopers.TG
JMorgan
Thanks for the info. I keep forgetting that one can look these things up on the computer. Mine has a 1940 copyright date. I've had it for 35 years thinking that it would be valueable one day. I should have kept the first 57 Chevy I had when I was 16!
mlander
This is one of the things I really do not understand! I put the entire 1930-1931-1932 Oakland-Pontiac V-8 Shop Manual one DVD. It was the first time I had done it. Yes it was one tough job for me but I did it. But it was worth it, at least for me. If I did it again it would take me a lot less time. The only problem is that I can see is that all Shop Manuals are not loose leaf as was this O-P Shop Manual. Otherwise one would have to ?Explode? the Manual to properly put it on the DVD. Also a flatbed scanner is necessary to properly make it look even anywhere near correct. A DVD can contain so much more information than a CD, as an example a DVD can record 300 minutes of movies. Oddly enough the purchase of a 1932 Detroit Iron Buick disk gave me the idea. One of best things of a DVD is that if you want only a part of the manual just run off copies of the part you are working on and take out to the place where you are working and when it gets dirty just throw away the paper copy.
