Anyone know the vintage and value ?

Any way to find out.

I found this heavy metal button sign in a closed Sign Company.

Was told it was in storage since the 50's. Never put on a building.

Be very wary of Coca-Cola signs. Not only are they widely reproduced commercially and on the consumer market, they are among the common intentionally counterfeited collectibles on the market. There are dozens of collector guides on the market for these things with numerous clues as to the counterfeits and the reproductions.

I seriously doubt a real, unused 1950s sign would left behind by people in the signage market when the company closed. Everybody knows those are valuable, and they've been widely collected for generations now.

I'd research this item thoroughly before you try to market it. If it's what it was represented as you have quite a valuable item. Take it to <span style="font-style: italic">The Antiques Roadshow</span> and they'll put you TV! Good luck! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks Dave ! I appreciate it. I have personally know the guy I purchased this from for years.

He has had it stored in his building since the late 50's / early 60's.

Back then, He had quite a few of them. Two of them were used as snow saucers for his kids. A garden hose was cut and put around the sharp edges and secured with small ropes to keep the kids

from getting cut. He said that they built round wood frames and these "button signs" were screwed to the frames and then installed onto the outside of Diners,Grocery Stores,etc. It's the Real McCoy.

I checked eBay and the only ones that were identical were only 24" and 36". This one is 4 feet.

Nothing matches it on eBay.
