Spring Placement 1971 Cutlass

i forgot which way the front springs go- does the flat part of the spring go into the lower control arm , or does it go up into the frame? thanks

The "flat" part of the spring goes up into the frame. The lower control arm has a recess that the end of the spring wire fits into. There's a small hole in this recess. The end of the spring wire is supposed to be visible through this hole.
