vtwintony Posted October 14, 2006 Share Posted October 14, 2006 As some of you know I have been looking for a 36 Buick Coupe for a very long time. At last I found one. I'm looking for a few things and need some help. First off, I have nice extrabanjo wheel that I'd like to have restored. The one on the car has 2 broken spokes. Who do I callto restore my wheel? The car has a working radio but I'd like to have it serviced and I need the correct knobs for the radio.Any help would be much appreciated. I also would like to get the instrument cover and glove box tiger striped (Wood grained). Anyone still doing this? Last, the car has a almost new set of WWW bis-ply tires. As for the tires, I would run them to see how they perform before you buy radials. The suspension geometry of older cars is made to work with bias ply tires. The tires had 80% tread left but would follow every rut, ridge or shadow. I put a set of B.F.Goodrich www radials on. WOW!! Drives like a new car. Well worth the investment. Tubeless and a modern all weather tread to boot. My wife and I took a 1000 mile trip last month. At all speeds ( up to 75 at times ) and in the rain the tires handeled well. The ride was about the same. I'm going to Powdercoat and restripe my wheels so I think I will run the redials but I was thinking of using the Coker tire because they promise to look like the original tire. How does the B.F.
