jgs
On a 1912 car with nickel trim, is it acceptable to use stainless steel fasteners in place of nickel plated, as long as they are the proper shape and size? An example would be oval headed, slot screws on the trim on the tops of the doors. To me, it is hard to discern a difference in color and shine between polished nickel and stainless. Restorer32
Unlikely you would ever be questioned about stainless vs nickle at an AACA meet. We use stainless wherever possible.
jgs
That's what I thought, but a friend with judging experience in the Early Ford V8 Club said I would likely get docked. The AACA judging process is all new to me, and I don't want to make any mistakes I could avoid. Thanks for letting me know that you use stainless with no problems.
