How did YOU meet? Tell us your story!

Did you meet your main squeeze at a Reatta Cruise? Did you go on your first date in a Reatta? How 'bout the honeymoon, did you drive that very special Buick? Maybe you chased her/him down the highway just to get a good look at the sexy little car. Did you trade in the Reatta on a ring?

The Reatta Homecoming is only [color:"red"] [color:"red"] months away!!!

Let's Celebrate the magic of this classic!

Let's Reminisce a bit over those chance Reatta meetings, made in heaven.

You guys are way off base, I met my bride to be while working at the Reatta Craft Center, I spent 1 1/2 years inside the plant and she was there a little shorter then I was, we had a lot of fun working on the Reatta together and we are still together after all these years. We now have a 89 Reatta that we both love to drive, and looking forward to taking it to the Reatta Homecoming.

I lovingly referred to my red '90 convert as my "chicker-picker-upper" since I purchased it in 1990. I could tell you stories that would make your heads spin. HOWEVER, after meeting Elin a few years ago, it is now just the "red car", and we take it on great weekend trips with the top down, like to the Adirondacks last Fri & Sat for a romantic couple of days at the Big Moose Lodge . I suggest that anyone who wants to improve their social life get one. It costs less than a Corvette or Porsche, and most younger good-looking women have no clue on how old it is. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I met my bride at the car wash, and we have'nt been apart for more than a day since.

She spotted our 1st Reatta, at an auction, (which she wanted to leave an hour before), and jabbed her elbow into my ribs whenever I slowed-down my bidding!

I thought she wanted me to stop, until she raised her voice, "GET IT!", that's when I realized the jabs were meant as an encouragement, rather than a roadblock! When I,(we), won the bidding war, she blessed me saying "Happy 20th Anniversary!" We took it home that day, and over the next week, I replaced the brakes, and the harmonic balancer. My test-drive was the last time I drove it for months. She still loves it, even after the realization our daughter, Nanomekanik, raced it at the dragstrip, then totalled a 91 Frod Probe with it, and of course, the "Bambi-Killer" incident. This car "takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin' ", it's now waiting for me to return from the Nats in MN, and affix it's new RF lower control arm, to get it back on the road.

I love my, (our), convertibles best, yet she still prefers the coupes to drive.

I know she prefers the drop-tops as a passenger, for the views, and the freedom.

We regularly take one out for frozen custard at Adrian's in Burlington, our romantic get-away, down the rustic roads, and past the dairies. You really get a good dose of the aromas along the way, in a ragtop!

I'm glad we don't pass any pig or sheep farms on the way!!!!!

This little white 88 Reatta re-kindled HER love for cars, and we've been happier overall since.

GREAT STORIES!!! And hey, nothing like picking up direct from the factory!!! I just happen to be the gal that got picked up there and we just picked up our 2nd Reatta Sunday (first one died suddenly - just could not live without "our baby"). Left for Virginia 4:00 Sat. afternoon. By 1:00 a.m. Sun we could barely find our way thru the fog in the Mts. of W. Virginia, almost 0 visibility. Finally came to an exit with 32 motels....NO VACANCY! Next exit...NO VACANCY!! 20 more miles...NO VACANCY!!! It was 4 in the morning when we parked next to a couple of semis behind the Marathon station, curled up in the front seat of the truck and tried to sleep. We called the seller a couple hours later - find out HE ONLY LIVES 1/4 MILE AWAY!!! Talk about ironic. McDonald's parking makes a great place to buy and sell (see photo)!!!

Trip home was uneventful except for the disappointment Jeg's was closed.

Both Reattas are registered for the Homecoming but without a miracle cure one is going to be a "trailer queen parts car".

See you all in Lansing!!!

By now you all know we (JWC & I) met at Buick Reatta Craft Centre (19 years 3 months 20 days and some odd hours ago, but hey, who?s counting).

Now, ?the rest of our story?.

There have been many a cruise in the ?60 Chevy, our two Baja?s, my ?68 Impala, his Vette, the sandrails, or one of many other cars to park in the garage. We?ve ripped down an 1835cc at 2 in the morning and put a tranny in Jim?s Daytona Christmas Day. Not to mention towing that darn ?72 suburban fifteen times or convincing mall security his brand spankin? new mustang was not just ?misplaced? in their parking lot.

When someone asks why we never married, he says ?because SHE never asked me?.

Well, it is time to fulfill a very special wish.

Would JWC do me the honor of sharing his last name?

?wait, you guys NEVER read between the lines well.

John William Coyle, WILL YOU MARRY ME? Friday, September 15, 2006?? At the Buick Reatta Homecoming Cruise Night??? In Wal-mart?s parking lot???? On the corner of US 127 and Lake Lansing Road????? Say, sometime between 5:30 and 6:00 P.M.??????

B?shert
