mattg
Hi, I'm working on a 1917 Metz and trying to find someone who sells a fan belt that splits to install rather then a continuous belt. The (streched)belt on the car has a series of looped staples and a cotter pin joining the 2 ends.Matt Virginia Beach

Guest De Soto Frank
That kind of end-to-end belt connection, that looks like two "combs" locked together with a hinge-pin is called a "buckle", and is exactly what is used in conveyor belts and flat machine belting. If all else fails you, try contacting Akron Belting in Ohio: they made-up a nice new flat-belt for my 1910 Seneca-Falls engine lathe...Good luck ! Guest Ken G
Yes, McMaster-Carr. See photograph, not my Rover 16/50 but someone else's whose photograph I happened to have on my computer. Mine looks the same. This belt seems to work fine, and can be divided anywhere merely with a pair of pliers.Ken G, 1925 Rover 16/50 (San Francisco)
