edzolz
Is there any way to replace the thermometer in a Boyce Midget model? Also need one glass, one ring, and the temperature plate.
Terry Bond
What is the problem with yours? If the red fluid is all the way to the top, all you need to do is shake it down and it'll be fine. Any parts needed-buy a spare and use the parts you need. These things are common enough you can pick up one in almost any swap meet. If you've got one thats got a vehicle specific name plate in it you can always buy one of the new reproductions and swap out the name plate. Ebay is a great source for them.Terry
edzolz
The thermometer is loose in mine. I do not know what material is used to secure the glass into the body. As far as shaking down the fluid, I've tried every thing I can think of to get the fluid back down. Even put into boiling water and then froze it. Nothing has worked. Thought there might be a repair kit available with a new thermometer.
D Binger
Restoration Supply Company has thermometers for the SR size motometers but not the JR size. They have repair kits for the Jr and the Sr sizes. You might also check with the Model A supply places, they might have them.Reatoration Supply is in Escondido, CA760-741-4014www.RestorationStuff.cominfo@RestorationStuff.com
REO_Driver
I have a good one if you do not want to deal with repairing the one you have.Neil
caf
A friend of mine years back had a wrecking yard and he said if the fluid was up you could tap the base of the motometer on an inflated spare tire to get it down. I never tried it but it sounds like it would work.
