kevinhillman
Fellow Buick Fans, I'm planning to remove the seats from my Buick, she is located out of state and I need to get a head start on the upholstery work. I need to know how the front seat rails/frame is secured to the floor (bolted from the bottom, bolted from the top, etc.) and any 'tricks of the trade' that I should know. Thanks, Kevin HillmanRedbird Restorations, LLCBelleville, IL
Bhigdog
Easy job , Kevin. the rears just pull out no tools required. Assuming no power front seat. There are 2 5/16-24 bolts at the rear of each seat track, accessed from inside car. The front of the track is secured by wedging action under a bracket. Usually the front bracket doesn't have to be loosened. Just remove the rear bolts and lift the seat up and rearward. Works best with two people. If the seat is power there is some wires and a clevis pin to deal with. Bring some penetrating oil for the rear bolts....Bob.
