Computer Skills?

Recommended Posts

I'm copying a recent response to Fran Shore;

Quote:

Fran, I've asked about a "basic computer" seminar for next year, if there is enough interest. I envision a board of 4 or 5 panelists with a live computer to demonstrate, in real time, answers to any questions from the audience. I'm going to copy this to the editor's forum for more info.

As I have found out how little I know about computers myself, in dealing with my new Dell, I can understand how some of our older members are intimidated by computers. I think an open panel session/seminar would be a great help to members and the AACA. As more people find this web site, we realize how important it has become. I still get that blank look when someone mentions "DFer's".

On another note, I'd like to relate something I learned from Peter Gariepy's Web Site Seminar. A question came up concerning the Ad panels down the side of this web site, the AACA Web Site. It's seems that Regional AACA Web Sites have the same availability of ads in their sites.

I know you may consider this idea intrustive, but consider what an extra $200.00 a year (depending on activity/hits) could do to help purchase other computer products/aids? I dearly would like to purchase a power point projector for our region. I have many pictures stored away each year, that I can't find space in my newsletter for. I know what you're thinking, "How many times do we want to see that crazy man with the green hair from last year's annual show!???" But, think of the interest you could generate when some members see your friends having fun at the last tour that "they" missed.

See, between all of the fun at Philly this year, I "DID" learn something.

Maybe you should consider attending next year. We're always improving the weekend's activities. Can't wait till next year.
