I have ground off both sides of the pin like the chassis manual says, but it will NOT budge. Can I drill this thing out? What does it take to get it out?? Guest imported_widomski Posted September 24, 2005 Share Posted September 24, 2005 If you are not in a hurry, I would try something like Liquid Wrench a rust disolver. I would spray a little on it each day for about a week. On the last day, spray it again, have a beer and then heat it with a propane torch. Make sure it doesn't get too hot and then use a proper sized pin punch/hammer and try to gently knock it out.I have been sucessful with the above procedure.It is tough to drill it out straight unless you have a drill press and V-BlocksBob Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Smartin Posted September 24, 2005 Author Share Posted September 24, 2005 The pin looks like it is "one" with the shaft. When I ground the ends off, it appears as if there is no pin at all. I really have to look hard to tell where the pin is, as opposed to the shaft itself. Should I grind some more? I'm at/below the surface of the shaft already. 42crazy Posted September 24, 2005 Share Posted September 24, 2005 Adam, a little bit of heat will show where the pin is located, one or the other will heat up before the other, and it will clearly show the pin location. It was stuck on there pretty well. All is smooth sailing from here....Paul, I THINK I have found everything. If I end up short on these little detail parts, I'll call ya. See you on Sunday.
