Guest jim_houston
Hi,
This past week-end, my drivers side head light failed to open. I recently rebuilt the roller assembly on both headlights, so I was puzzeled why one of my headlights failed to pop open. No problem, I bought two newly rebuilt motors from one of our members (Thanks again Brad!) but as it turns out, the rollers weren't the problem. My arm that attaches to the motor has worn out such that the motor fitting has rounded out the hole on the arm. I guess this is another item that can fail over time. I need another one, and I'd actually like to buy a back-up as well. I'm not sure if the arms are the same for both headlights, they may be. If not, I need the arm for the drivers-side headlamp assembly.
If anyone has one, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks!
Jim Houston
houstonj@spawar.navy.mil
Barney Eaton
The part number is 16510108 and you get the bellcrank, the arm with the bearings in each end plus a bolt and locking nut. The GM retail price is about $35.00 Check the on line parts sources as several people claim they are getting part from them for less than the dealers jobber price.
Check the following. www.gmpartsdirect.com www.partsgm.com www.carparts.com www.wrenchhead.com
Keep us informed if you get a good price
------------------
Barney Eaton Reatta technical advisor for BCA and keeper of the Reatta database. Guest jim_houston
Thanks a million Barney -
You always seem to save everyone's tail around here!
I've submitted emails to all of the vendors, as soon as I get a response from them, I'll reply to the group with what I've found.
Thanks again!
Jim Houston
Guest jim_houston
If anyone knows the part number, and whether it's still available, I'll just go to Buick and pick one up. At this point, I'll take anything! Thanks for any help!
Jim Houston
