RedReatta
Recently, the security switch in the driver's side door of my '89 Reatta malfunctioned, so every time I unlocked the door with the key, it set off the car alarm. In case you're wondering, the security switch is an interior part that, in short, tells the car if the door is open or closed. I took it into the shop and was told the part was beyond repair and they couldn't find a replacement, so they wired around it and I figured that was that. Every time I started the car, a message saying that the driver's door was ajar popped up, but it was a minor inconvenience compared to the car alarm. However, it wasn't over. Because the car thought the door was open, the security light in the dashboard burned constantly, and would wear the battery down. Now I have to jump the car before I can start it.Does anyone know where to find one of these things, or if there is a part from another car that would work?
