Service Bulletin / Circular search help please

Recommended Posts

I was speaking to the gentleman who posted the 90 drop top in Ohio for sale this evening, and he stated that there was a service bulletin relating to the Reatta or Rivi brakes concerning a sharp pulling to one side or the other when braking. As he recalled the bulletin called for and he replaced a 1100.00 item which can only be the Teeves. I would really like to view this bulletin if anyone has any knowledge of or knows how to locate it please........

thanks,

Nic

Incidently, the drop top he has for sale seems to be a nice driver from his description. Was posted late last week or the 1st of this week.

Some owners may comment on intermittent pull with a hard brake apply, but without ABS activation. The intermittent pull can be either to the left or right and only occurs with hard non-ABS stops.

This condition may be due to a base brake condition, loose suspension component, or the Antilock Brake System. When working on a vehicle with this condition, use the following procedure:

1. Inspect the base brake system. Check for loose or binding calipers, damaged rotors, or restricted brake lines. Refer to Section 5 of the applicable Service Information Manual for complete inspection and repair procedures.

2. Inspect the suspension system. Check for loose control arms, damaged struts, or bushings. Refer to Section 3 of the applicable Service Information Manual for complete inspection and repair procedures.

3. If nothing is found during the above inspections, replace the AntiLock brake system valve block, (pressure modulator valve for 1991 models). Follow the procedure in the appropriate Service Information Manual.

The valve block is the unit mounted on the side of the whole ABS unit mounted on the firewall. The valve block is held to the master cylinder with 4 bolts. You will need to remove the three lines coming out of the bottom of the block. There are "O" rings sealing the passages between the block and the master cylinder.
