Stan W.
I just finished installing a new main wiring harness in my '52 Special. The problem is that as soon as I connect the battery the regulator makes a click sound like one of the sets of points are engaging. If I disconnect the battery wire in the regulator it stops. It never did this before. Any ideas? Thanks
JohnD1956
Just guessing but do you have the ignition switch wired backwards? Or one of the small wires on the starter solenoid crossing over and touching the battery cable on the solenoid?
Guest
yes, you have something backwards.I'm guessing you have the battery post going to the wrong lead on the regulator. The other easy fix might be the starter switch on the carborator might be stuck, or grounded.
