Hey randjflo60,
What's up with you always telling folks here to go to the Chevy forum for their answers?
You've done this several times now.
Don't you feel we here in AACA have knowledgable people that can help them with a Chevy problem?

I feel we have some great folks here that go out of their way to help others. Give us a break! What did we do to you?
Rick Hoover

You guys have done nothing to me. I thought the idea of these forums is to help each other. I follow both forums and I've learned a lot from both of them. It just seems that for the 50 and 60ish Chevys they have a little better advice. I didn't realize there was competition between the forums. Every body else posts links and pictures, what is wrong with Chevytalk?
I've had my membership cancelled here once before, I guess I'll get cancelled again.
Goodbye!
------------------
Ron & Judy
2 1960 Impalas http://www.anglefire.com/pa3/impala
[This message has been edited by randjflo60 (edited 07-20-2000).]
[This message has been edited by randjflo60 (edited 07-20-2000).]

Hi all, You got two of the best in ronbarn and Rick Hoover on this site. I have learned a lot from them. No need to go elsewhere for a window problem. SalG

thanks for the offer rick, mine is a hardtop which i just recently had painted. i ordered a new set of interior door panels from national chevy and installed them myself. they were a real pain with those little tacks that break off so easily. in any case i didn't really notice the windows being so loose until i installed the panels and replaced the inner garnish mouldings.this whole car has been a great learning experience and i love it, but every time i do something it seems like i make a wrong decision. i was just curious if there was some adjustment i could make without having to redo. people always seem friendly and helpful on this forum it is my favorite. i also use chevytalk also. car people are generally good people. blueflame

Blueflame,
Did you replace the window channels? If not the old ones might be warn enough to make them rattle. Also is the bottom of the window channel atatched at the bottom? It could also be the little wheels that ride in the window regulator .I have had this problem with a 50 Chev Convertable and a 53 Olds 2dr ht.
Dan

Blueflame,
Dan hit it on the head!
The convertible and hardtop doors wear quick as you only have the one channel. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN, about those panel clips and messing around fresh painted jams, but you'll have to remove them and replace the channels and rollers. I'm sure this is what it is. There is NO quick fix! Best to get on it before you start breaking some glass.
Rick
Forgot, ~ Make sure you get some extra new panel clips before you do it!
[This message has been edited by Rick Hoover (edited 07-21-2000).]

Hey,
I want to get my two cents worth in here, I go into all the Chevy sites plus this one but I wait until there has been no response over time before I recomend other sites. I know from experience that this site is reviewed the most and that the people are a great Help and very free with there technical advice. This is the only place that I know of that deal strickly with "stock vehicles" and are not doing modifications. The answers to the above subject are right on because I had the same problem with my 49 Convetible and 52 hardtop, which has the same regulator as your 53. I will say I like the Chevy talk and Stovebolt site also.
Later,
Bob
