imported_Phil Knapp
Here's a before and after picture of a 1939 Zephyr Convertible coupe being turned into a street rod. I bid on this car when it was on ebay a couple of years ago, but it didn't meet the reserve.
CBoz
I think the pics say it all, Phil. Who are the butchers?
imported_Phil Knapp
The car is being modified by "Don's Hot Rods" in Florida. They do VERY nice work and this will probably be the sweetest 1939 Zephyr street rod extant when they're finished. I just wish they would stick to Chevys! There are WAY too few '39 Zephyr convertibles left to waste like this!
Guest imported_V12Bill
Why don't we send out a hit man or two to set these people straight. If the body count is high enough maybe the rest of the street rodders will get the hint. Maybe not though because if they really wanted a fast, well handling car with good looks they could buy a Corvette and spend less money and have instant gratification and it all ready has a Chevy V 8 in it.Bill
CBoz
I don't know whether they do good work or not. All I know from looking at the pics on their site and the one above is now the backend looks fat, the front end looks like the car's rooting for truffles, and the whole car looks 2 tons heavier and a whole lot clumsier. And I think they did all this without modifying the sheetmetal -- quite a dubious accomplishment! Of course, that's one man's opinion, but I have a feeling Bob Gregorie had a better eye for style and balance.
