R W Burgess
I just finished critiquing another Region's Newsletter and mentioned something to them that our Region considers important. We decided sometime ago to not publicize our bank balances because we were worried about some new member taking advantage of us. For instance, someone sees our newsletter in a sponsor's showroom, with say, a $5000.00 balance published in the meeting minutes. This fellow decides to join our club and shows a real interest in taking on a position of say, "How about the Treasurer, as I'm good at that!" Later the next year, the new member and the $5000.00 disappear. Now, if your region has a two party check signing requirement this would not happen. I'm just trying to make everyone aware of what can happen. Be aware!Wayne Burgess-Editor-Northern Neck Region
