Found a Suburban, 2 door wagon, looks straight. How rare are these wagons? Also is it very expensive to rebuild a flathead? Are there any places to buy rebuilt flatties? Hi there Robert, I would say that rebuilding a flathead six is very straight forward. A good machine shop can do the valve seats and valves. You will likely need to rebore it as cylinder wear is signifigant on those old engine castings. There is a fellow in New England that has parts and also Egge at http://www.egge.com/ that can supply parts.
