What's are the differences btw 1956 88 and 98 model convs?

I know there's a longer frame on the 98, but are there significant differences between the 88 series conv, the 98 series conv, and also, what makes the Starfire model unique? I'm reading original factory brochures, but they've been little help so far with regards to these model nuances. Thanks.

The 98 has the longer wheelbase, as you note. As for the "Starfire" designation on the 98, all 98 drop-tops appear to have been "Starfires" in '56. And...the 98 cost almost 25% more than the S-88. Presumably, interior fittings would also have been more opulent on the 98. The engines in each series were basically the same, so the 88 sure sounds like the better buy, eh?

I agree with the post above.

I am not an expert on 56 models ( I go for the 58's ).

The difference between the S88 and 98 are probably :

* longer wheelbase

* Different interior

* More electrical options like windows and seats
